Aegis provides AI-assisted scam analysis, URL checks, password-breach checks, and identity-protection features. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you use the features currently available in Aegis.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide when you contact us or use the service, such as account details, verified identity addresses, support requests, and content you choose to submit for analysis. We do not collect device telemetry, browser form entries, VPN traffic, or financial-account activity because Aegis does not currently provide those features.
When you use the optional Aegis Browser Protection extension, it sends the public URL of the website being checked to the Aegis protection service. The extension does not collect passwords, one-time codes, card data, cookies, session tokens, form values, full page HTML, or unrelated browsing history. Its bounded scan cache and temporary exceptions are stored locally in the browser and can be cleared by the user. If you choose to connect the extension to your Aegis account, the default setting saves only threats and warnings privately to that account. You may choose to save all analyzed sites; low-risk browser activity saved through that option expires after 30 days. The connection uses a one-time code and a separate revocable browser credential, not your browser cookies or Aegis sign-in session. Disconnecting the browser revokes that credential; if the browser is offline, Aegis disables local authenticated use immediately and retries server-side revocation.
How we use information
We use information to provide saved scam analyses and identity monitoring, respond to support requests, maintain service security, and improve the reliability of Aegis. Aegis does not send browser-extension URLs or domains to analytics services. Privacy-safe extension events may be measured without the website being analyzed. We do not sell personal information.
How we share information
We share information only when needed to operate Aegis, comply with applicable law, respond to valid legal requests, or protect the rights, safety, and security of Aegis and our users. Razorpay processes Aegis Individual subscription payments through its checkout. Aegis stores operational subscription identifiers and status needed to provide entitlements; it does not receive or store raw card numbers. For breach monitoring, after you verify ownership of an email address, Aegis may securely send that address to our configured breach-intelligence provider to check for known exposures. The optional password exposure check runs in your browser and sends only a partial password hash, never the password itself. We do not sell personal information.
Your choices
You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with your account. You can also manage marketing preferences through the links included in our emails.
